Midnight Skateboarding is a design project and outlet that was born from a deep passion of skateboarding culture introduced to us at a young age in the early 90s. Luckily, emerging from the depths of a treasure trove of designs by illustrator and creative director Natalie Clapp that date back to the early 2000s, Midnight Skateboarding was able to come to fruition. Collectively our ongoing fascination with the history of the occult as well as strange and unusual oddities collected from years of travel, we sought to find a place for our joint ideas and design work to collide by showcasing not only the artwork itself, but to display it on something of functional use. All of our illustrations are originally pen and ink sketches that have been updated and manipulated to fit across our complete line.
More than anything, Midnight Skateboarding is an ongoing passion project and collaboration between us and the skateboarding community we love. We are a small wife and husband team of two based in Charleston, SC and felt strongly about taking these nearly forgotten designs, and transforming them to work across countless mediums and the pieces they adorn. We are humbled by the support shown for this project, and look forward to what the future holds.
